Collection: Basic Apparel

The world doesn't need more clothing, it needs better clothing.

Basic Apparel was founded in Denmark in 2013. The company is run by Camilla Balle and her team. The brand focuses on protecting the environment and fair working conditions.

This future-oriented approach is reflected in the materials used. Not only is the label GOTS certified (Lic.No. 200026), which requires the use of resource-saving organic fibers such as organic cotton, but textiles such as Tencel or Eco-Vero from Lenzing are also used in the garments.

GOTS (https://global-standard.org) stands for natural organic textiles and the high social and environmental standards applied during their production.

If there is a functional need, recycled synthetic materials are also found in the garments. If animal materials are used due to their durability or other advantageous properties, they are always materials from certified, controlled animal husbandry.

In addition, the label collaborates with the social enterprise Plastic Bank. With every order, 4 kilograms of plastic are removed from the oceans and processed into new products.

However, the label is not only dedicated to its ecological but also its social footprint. The majority of products are produced in Turkey or China. The label is in close contact with the owners of the production facilities, and regular controls ensure working conditions and transparency along the entire production chain of the garments.
