Box backpack/ shoulder bag

The box backpack or shoulder bag is made from 100% vegetable-tanned cowhide with a velvety feel. The saddle leather straps are also 100% vegetable-tanned. The leather is completely natural and the colors are applied discreetly, which means that the natural grain of the leather is completely preserved. The cut and appearance of the model is clear and simple and corresponds to that of a “soft box”.

The Box Shoulderbag can be worn in the following ways: As a bag on the long, adjustable shoulder strap made of saddle leather or alternatively on the back as a backpack. To do this, the strap is extended slightly and passed through two hooks on the back at the bottom. This transforms the shoulder strap into two backpack straps.

In the post-war period, Harold's mainly produced bags for other brands. These contract manufacturing projects formed the basis for the development of Harold's own bag brand in the sixties and seventies. In the seventies, however, industrial customers increasingly began to look abroad. The process dragged on into the nineties. From around 1995, only final production and repairs were carried out in Obertshausen. The remaining craft services, however, secured the know-how and the retention of the most important sewing machines and production tools.
Since 2010, the production of bags has been resumed in the company's own factory in Obertshausen. The models result from an intersection of simple design, material availability, local cost structures, regionality and individual treatment during production.
